About the RoleA thriving secondary school in Wakefield is seeking a full-time Teacher of Design Technology (Resistant Materials/Product Design) starting September 2025. Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 DT, including Resistant Materials/Product Design
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Eligibility to work in the UK

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching of Product Design and Resistant Materials to KS3 and KS4
- Create and maintain a safe, inspiring, and inclusive workshop environment
- Plan engaging, practical lessons that stimulate creativity and technical skill
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly
- Use formative and summative assessment to guide teaching and feedback
- Manage tools, equipment, and resources efficiently
- Collaborate with colleagues in the DT department
- Promote safe working practices in the workshop
- Foster student interest in technology, design, and engineering
- Support whole-school initiatives and extracurricular activities
- Prepare materials and prototypes in advance of lessons
