Summary

We are looking for a Paediatric Clinical Educator to support the education and development within our Paediatric High Dependency Unit at the University Hospital of Derby and Burton (UHDB).
We are looking for someone who is motivated, passionate and experienced in delivering training, supporting staff, improving service development which will ultimately impact patient care. We recognise the essential role education plays in developing our workforce and delivering the highest possible standards of care to our patients and families.
The role involves working as part of a nursing and medical team to provide care to babies, children and young people within our paediatric services across the Royal Derby Hospital and Queens Hospital Burton.
As part of the Paediatric Education team you will manage new staff through orientation and induction, support existing staff with ongoing training and competencies, including the delivery of mandatory training, collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and deliver evidence based educational programs, contribute to maintaining the quality of care and provide teaching and education to the registered and unregistered nursing staff working in the wider children's hospital.
You will have current NMC registration - First level degree (working towards) and demonstrable post-registration experience in critical care holding a qualified in speciality paediatric critical care qualification.
Relevant current paediatric experience working in a clinical setting. Qualification / evidence to support ability to provide training. Experience of mentoring and developing staff. Evidence of specialist skills gained through theoretical knowledge care . IT Literate.
