Summary
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain a professional behaviour at all times and promote a positive image of Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust at all times, in line with World Class Care values. Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Professional Conduct and Scope for Expanded Practices for Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors. To ensure accurate and comprehensive nursing records are maintained using appropriate written and electronic documentation. To undertake all nursing procedures in accordance with trust policies and ensure that these procedures and policies are understood and adhered to by all staff, within own management responsibility. To provide a continuing supportive service within the breast screening units and facilitate optimum health care for those who have or fear they may have a breast cancer. The post holder is responsible for the management of a caseload within the defined client group, including liaison where appropriate with other agencies and the provision of specialist advice to those involved in delivering care to this group. The post holder will work alongside the Director of Screening, Consultant Radiologists, Consultant Surgeons, Histopathologists, Clinical Nurses Specialists and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide patient focused care within the screening service. Identify a patients physical, social and psychological needs that required referral to other agencies. Provide both verbal and written information on all of the aspects of breast disease and its treatments.
