Summary
OakRay Care is a family run business on the Isle of Wight and the New Forest, specialising in the provision of residential care for the elderly. We run high-quality care homes and are committed to making a positive difference to our residents, in every way. We currently operate four care homes; three on the Isle of Wight and one in Fordingbridge, New Forest.
Our most important asset is our staff, so we always look for individuals who want to make an impact and positive difference on those around them.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Property Maintenance Person to join our friendly, supportive team at our Fordingbridge care home.
Glynn Court Care Home provides accommodation and personal care for up to 31 people over the age of 65, some of whom are living with dementia or physical health needs. Our dedicated and experienced team ensure we meet the resident’s individual care and social needs.
The role consists of the general maintenance and upkeep of the property. To carry out the work you will require basic plumbing, electrical, decorating and carpentry skills. You will also need a basic tool kit that will enable you to carry out these tasks. Any other necessary tools will be provided. You should have the ability to work without close supervision.
Can you:
• fit a TMV?
• fit a new door closure?
• repair a profile bed?
• clean an extractor fan?
• fit a hand rail?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, we would like to hear from you.
The job role also includes maintaining the garden area: lawn mowing, hedge cutting, weeding and general upkeep of the garden area to keep it to a high standard.
Previous experience working as a maintenance person within an elderly care home environment is desirable.
The wages are dependent on experience. We are offering 18 - 24 hours a week.
If you feel you have the necessary experience to fill the position, and you would like to join our friendly team, we'd love to hear from you, so please submit your CV.
