Highways Inspector (BR9)
Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Highways Inspector (BR9) to join our team and contribute to maintaining the safety and efficiency of our highway infrastructure. As a Highways Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the roads, bridges, and associated structures are in compliance with safety regulations and standards. Your responsibilities will involve conducting routine inspections, assessing the condition of highways and related structures, and identifying any defects or issues that may compromise public safety. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to analyze and report on the condition of various infrastructure components. You will work closely with engineering teams and local authorities to provide recommendations for repairs or enhancements needed to maintain the integrity of our transportation systems. This position requires a blend of technical knowledge and strong communication skills, as you will be tasked with preparing detailed reports and presentations based on your findings. Responsibilities
Conduct routine inspections of highways, bridges, and related structures to assess their condition and identify maintenance needs.
Prepare detailed inspection reports outlining findings, recommendations, and necessary actions for repairs or upgrades.
Collaborate with engineering teams to develop maintenance schedules and emergency repair plans as required.
Monitor construction work by contractors to ensure compliance with safety standards and specifications.
Investigate incidents or accidents related to highway conditions and provide reports on findings and recommendations.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed on highways and structures.
Communicate effectively with local authorities, stakeholders, and the public regarding highway conditions and maintenance programs.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience as a highways inspector or in a similar role within the transportation sector.
Strong knowledge of highway design standards, construction methods, and safety regulations.
Excellent analytical skills for assessing infrastructure condition and making informed recommendations.
Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with various parties.
Proficient in using inspection and reporting software, as well as standard office applications.
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 08:30
End Time: 17:00
