Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead one of our mental health residential care homes. This is a vital leadership role responsible for the overall running of the service, ensuring the highest standards of care, regulatory compliance, staff leadership, and operational efficiency. You will play a key part in shaping the ongoing development of the service and maintaining a positive, safe, and therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Staff Management
- Provide effective leadership to all care staff, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and accountability
- Oversee staff recruitment, induction, training, and supervision
- Lead team meetings and staff development initiatives
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional working environment
Care Quality & Resident Support
- Ensure the provision of high-quality, person-centred care tailored to individuals with complex mental health needs
- Oversee, monitor and update the development, implementation, and review of care plans and risk assessments
- Uphold safeguarding protocols and ensure all concerns are responded to promptly and appropriately
- Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, and professionals
- Liaise with healthcare professionals from Adult Social Care, Community Mental Health Teams, Pharmacies, GP and NHS-related centres
Compliance & Regulation
- Ensure compliance with all CQC requirements and The Lombrand Ltd’s policies and procedures
- Prepare for and lead CQC inspections, ensuring ongoing quality assurance and improvement
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory standards
Operational & Financial Management
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure financial sustainability of the service
- Oversee rotas, staffing levels, and operational planning
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators and outcomes
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or equivalent, or willingness to work towards)
- Experience managing a care home or mental health care service
- Eligible to register with the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
- Strong understanding of mental health conditions and best practices in mental health care
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures, and CQC regulatory framework
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a care team
- Ability to influence and drive changes in current practice
Desirable:
- Experience supporting adults with severe and enduring mental health issues such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or personality disorders
- Knowledge of trauma-informed or recovery-focused care models
- Familiarity with electronic care management systems
- Level 3 Diploma in Adult Social Care
