Summary
RSPCA Blackpool & North Lancashire Branch is a vital part of the UK’s largest animal welfare charity, dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing animals in distress. Our efforts are centred on giving animals a second chance at a happy life through our comprehensive welfare services.
The role
We are looking for a shop manager to manage our new charity shop in Layton.
You will be working with, and developing, a new shop team to raise vital funds to support the work of the self-funded RSPCA Animal Centre in Stalmine.
To be successful in this role, you will be:
passionate about retail and may have previous experience of running a shop.
able to generate income by managing the shop effectively and commercially in compliance with current legislation, and branch and RSPCA policy
confident working with people
organised and have good attention to detail
positive, reliable and proactive.
You must have:
a passion for animal welfare
experience in managing and developing a team
experience of cash handling and financial management procedures
strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-first attitude
the ability to communicate with tact and discretion.
good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload, balancing competing demands.

In this role you will have sole responsibility for the running of the shop, which may involve lone working. Due to this, we are unable to recruit anyone for this role who is under the age of 18.
Shop hours
As this is a new shop, the hours may be subject to change. Initially the shop will be open 9am-4pm from Tuesday to Saturday. Our shops may be open on some Bank Holidays
