Job Purpose:
To deliver high-quality, friendly, and efficient front-of-house service across the clubhouse bar and catering operations. The role includes serving drinks and food, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring all visitors receive a warm welcome and positive experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Bar Service
● Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to customers in a timely and responsible manner.
● Operate the till and handle card and cash payments accurately.
● Follow licensing laws, including ID checks for age verification.
● Restock fridges, glassware, and bar supplies as needed.
Catering Support
● Support Grandstand food sales providing hot beverages and hot snacks.
● Operate the till and handle card and cash payments accurately.
● Take food orders and serve meals during match days and events.
● Warm up pre-prepared food and portion accordingly.
● Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the food service area.
Customer Service
● Provide a warm, professional, and helpful service to members, players, guests, and visiting teams.
● Handle customer queries or issues efficiently and escalate to the Supervisor or Manager if needed.
● Create a friendly atmosphere in the clubhouse that encourages repeat visits.
Cleanliness & Hygiene
● Clear tables, wipe surfaces, and ensure the clubhouse remains tidy throughout the shift.
● Collect and wash glasses, plates, and cutlery.
● Follow food hygiene and health & safety guidelines at all times.
Person Specification:
Essential:
● Friendly, approachable, and professional manner.
● Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and busy match/event days.
● Ability to work well as part of a team and under pressure.
● Good communication skills and attention to detail.
● Basic numeracy and cash handling ability.
Desirable:
● Previous experience in hospitality, bar, or catering environments.
● Basic food hygiene certificate.
● Understanding of licensing laws and alcohol service.
● Interest in sport or community clubs.
