Summary

Engage and achieve the Portfolio Pathway Yearly Assessment according to fellowship level:General Yearly Workplace Assessments:1. Mini-CEX/CbDs:-8 per year: 4 in Obstetrics and 4 in Gynaecology.-Mandatory Yearly Mini-CEXs to address CiPs 1, 9, and 10 of the RCOG core curriculum.2. NOTSS (Non-Technical Skills for Surgeons): number depends on the placed fellowship year.3. Reflective Practice:-4 entries per year: Reflections should focus on specific experiences, highlighting their impact and the changes they prompted in practice, rather than being narrative or generic. 4. Objective Structured Assessments of Technical Skills according to the fellowship level.- Three assessments per procedure, signed off by two consultants.5. Feedback:- Trainer Observation (TO1): Two separate TO1 assessments per year.6. UHS Mandatory and Statutory Training Clinical:-Maintenance of the highest standards in the management of Obstetric and Gynaecological patients (over 5300 deliveries per annum at PAH).-Help to maintain close links with related services including Anaesthetics, Radiology; Neonatal Medicine; Paediatric Surgery, Cardiology, Neurology and Nephrology; Pathology and Genetics.-Supervise, monitor and assist the junior medical staff in the day-to-day management of in-patients.-Liaise between nurses, junior medical staff, patients, relatives and senior medical staff.-Attend and participate in ward rounds, clinics and operating lists as timetabled.-Take part in rostered emergency work including delivery suite and gynaecology on call.-Involvement in the administration of the department such as dictating discharge summaries, helping to develop protocols, write patient information sheets, attend business meetings and audit activity and clinical outcomes.-Maintain statutory and mandatory training and continued professional development.-Have continuing responsibility for the care of patients in liaison with consultant colleagues and for the proper functioning of the department in line with the Operational Policy and Strategic Plan (as amended from time to time).-Participate in continuing medical education in ways which are acceptable to the Chief Executive.-Participate in and contribute to Clinical Audit and research and in the management and development of the service in line with the Trusts policy on the implementation of Clinical Governance. Teaching:-You will be responsible for the training and supervision of junior medical staff that work with him/her and will devote time to this activity on a regular basis. -You will be asked to provide formal teaching to undergraduate medical students.Management.-Comply with all local policies including dress code, annual and study leave. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Appointment will be made under local contractual terms and conditions of service for Trust appointed (non-training fellow doctors and dentists).Successful candidates will have an educational framework equivalent to training grade doctors, and there will be a named educational supervisor assigned at the start of the post. The opportunity for Continued Professional Development (CPD) is highly supported and encouraged by the Trust, with options available to take study leave. All licensed doctors must meet the GMC requirements for revalidation and there will be an annual appraisal to support this process. Grades for Trust appointed (non-training) fellows will be paid a basic salary at a nodal pay point linked to the grade, at the rate set out in the National Medical and Dental pay circular.Basic salary detailed below plus any additional remuneration (as applicable) for hours set out in the doctors work schedule (e.g. additional hours, weekend allowance, and any hours which attract enhanced pay) Basic Salary MT04 £65,048 | Basic Salary MT05 £73,992 Salary will be assessed based on experience and skills. Eligibility criteria for appointment to a Nodal Point 5;-Have a minimum of 6 years of Specialty training-Hold relevant higher specialty exam (e.g FRCP, FRCA, FRCS)-A portfolio of evidence that demonstrates they meet the criteria for progression (in line with the Curriculum for the speciality similar to deanery trainee) Travelling expenses will not be paid for attending interview Please note that GMC registration (with a licence to practice) and right to work in the UK are essential for this role.Successful applicants will already have GMC registration or will be able to demonstrate they are eligible.
