Summary
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled 7.5 Tonne Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and adherence to all driving regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a valid driving licence for 7.5 tonne vehicles and have experience in commercial driving.
Duties
- Operate a 7.5 tonne lorry for the delivery of goods to customers in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all deliveries are completed safely and efficiently, adhering to road safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle checks to ensure the lorry is roadworthy and compliant with safety standards.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring they are secured properly during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and complete necessary paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any customer queries or concerns professionally.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to drive flatbed vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A valid 7.5 tonne driving licence is essential; additional certifications such as CPC are advantageous.
