Summary


The Medical day unit is a new service open Monday to Friday. Its Purpose is to provide day case activity, supporting patient flow, preventing hospital admissions and enhancing our patient experience.

This is a new and dynamic service and as the successful candidate you will be part of its development.

We are looking for a pleasant and caring Clinic Clerk to join our efficient and professional team at Eastbourne District General Hospital. You will have experience of dealing with the public, and able to manage difficult situations.

Your roles will involve being front of house for the unit, welcoming and admitting patients, answering the telephone, and booking future appointments.

The team on the Unit is both friendly and supportive, with a strong commitment to providing a high standard of care.

You will need to be adaptable to change and bring energy and innovation.

The post holder’s primary focus will be thetimelyhandling of reception duties and interactionwith members of the public and colleagues.Responding to andtaking action to resolvequeries with pace and tact.Responsible forensuring patient records are availableand electronic patient tracking systemsarekept up to datein line with Trust policy.





As a core member of the team the post holder will provide acomprehensive and quality administrative and clerical function to support the smooth day to day running of the clinical area.





The post holder will be conscientious and work calmly under pressure with a flexible approach. Using initiative toprioritise workloadwith efficiency,accuracyand care.The post holder will be polite and caring with stronginterpersonal skills tomanage situations including those of a challenging nature.
