Responsibilities and Duties
· New client sign ups. Performing house visits to meet new customers, risk assessment of property and animal.
· Potential new employee shadowing. Taking potential new employees out for a days shadowing to see how they react and cope with the dogs, answer any questions they may ask regarding the role and report back to the manager via shadowing paperwork.
· Performing the first walk with new dog walks. When new dogs sign up you will be required to perform the first walk to see how the dog behaves whilst out on walks, the interaction with other dogs and people and complete first walk forms.
· Supporting employee with newly grouped dogs. You will assist the walker on the first walk of newly grouped dogs to see if the dogs get on and how they interact with each other to see if they are suitable to be in the grouped walked together and to assist with moving the dogs away if they do not get on.
· Staff check in. Checking daily on the rota app to make sure staff are checking in & out and completed their day. Contact manager if staff member is logged in for long period and you can not get hold of them.
· Tracking performance by performing random Employee spot checks on a regular basis. Checking on staff members to make sure they are performing the walks to the highest standard and to make sure the dogs are receiving their full allotted time booked. Making sure the staff member is unaware of the spot check.
· Walking some of the dogs on the round and helping cover staff sickness/holiday. Performing weekly walks as required and helping with covering the round if any staff sickness or on annual leave.
· Regular communication required. Keep in touch with manager to discuss how employees are getting on in their daily duties or any problems, can be via call or whats app messages.
· Completing relevant paperwork. Ensuring all paperwork is completed and up to date, back to work, probationary period.
· Regular review of risk assessments on animals and client homes to ensure they remain safe for employees.
· Encouraging teamwork, open communication and a positive atmosphere within the team
· Employee accidents. All employee accidents need to be reported and an online form will be sent out to employee to fill in and sign, then team leader will fill in and sign with what action needs to be taken (can be discussed with manager)
· Animal accidents/behaviour – Being available to assist staff in the case of an animal having an accident (injury to dog we are walking) or being troublesome (not coming back from being off lead).
· Problem solving and providing support.
· Maintaining standards of conduct and performance within the team.
· Your duties may be modified from time to time to suit the needs of the business.
Qualifications
Candidates with degrees or additional qualifications, particularly in animal care and customer service, will have an edge (though this is not mandatory).

ESSENTIAL:
Must be 18 years or older for insurance purposes.
Willingness to undergo a DBS check (please note that this role cannot be offered to anyone with a criminal record).

Well-presented, animal-loving, good with people, strong communication skills, and dependable.
Physically capable of meeting the demands of this role, as you will be walking for the majority of the day.
Hold a full UK driving license with no points and have access to your own vehicle, insured for business use.
DESIRABLE:
Experience working with animals.
