Join us as a Transformation Controls Lead
- Working with the business, you’ll ensure that complex multi-year transformation activity is delivered within the defined risk appetite of the business while supporting the embedding of a strong and sustainable controls environment across all stages of change
- You’ll ensure that material risks arising from transformation are proactively identified, assessed, and managed, establishing key controls and mechanisms to effectively embed risk appetite, performance monitoring, and executive decision making
- We’ll look to you to champion a culture of innovation, driving remediation planning and issue management for control gaps identified during the transformation lifecycle, managing costs within risk appetite, and driving both simplification and improvement to customer outcomes
What you'll do
Partnering with the business, you’ll be responsible for leading the assessment of non-financial risks associated with the design and execution of our strategic change programme and inorganic initiatives. As such, you’ll use high-quality data to inform robust, future-focussed decisions. You’ll provide strategic input on complex transformation related control matters, emerging risks, and control remediation, and outline clear and meaningful summaries for consideration at executive and board level.
You’ll deliver transformation risk and control management reporting, using data to guide the team’s direction and help others make informed decisions aligned with our purpose and the interpretation of regulations and policy. You’ll also inform wider risk and control activity in relation to transformation, including risk assessments with key controls.
In addition to this, you’ll:
- Work with the wider Controls and Risk communities to deliver and support the risk and control assessment of business transformation and inorganic activity, setting a strong pace of delivery and maintaining high standards
- Assess risk in line with the EWRMF risk handbook, using a broad range of data to understand emerging issues and external trends, ensuring risk themes are synthesised and communicated to executive and board audiences
- Support the interpretation and implementation of regulations and policy, challenging decisions constructively and evaluating input with our long-term goals in mind
- Support the Strategy function in achieving proactive risk management and a generative risk culture, setting ambitious goals around the use of digital tools and technologies
- Work with first- and second-line controls and risk areas to ensure material risks are cost effective, supported by key controls, and monitored through KPIs
The skills you'll need
We’re looking for someone with a track record of successfully leading risk and control activity in a business transformation and mergers and acquisitions environment. Along with experience with the identification and management of material risk and completing industry standard risk assessments and using the output to make informed risk-based decisions, you’ll have the ability to understand and work with business technology issues.
You’ll also need:
- Experience in working on large Transformation programmes and M&A transactions to assess risks and lead associated risk assessments
- Extensive experience of managing senior stakeholders, including regulatory relationships and the ability to influence at executive level and with cross functional business and risk stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
- Experience of working in or supporting a risk and control function, products and processes, operations, and change functions
- Knowledge of the financial services industry across different customer sectors
- In depth product and operational experience of all Wealth Management services with a focus on investment management
- A clear track record of delivery and significant business and operational experience
