Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
The academy governing body of Shardlow Primary School are seeking to appoint an efficient, organised and dynamic Midday Supervisor/play leader.
All Midday Supervisors work as part of school team to: -
• Provide a caring, happy and secure environment in which our children are happy, valued and safe;
• Encourage children to work together and to become self-confident, responsible and independent young people;
• Help children to be responsible for their actions and behaviour and to be sensitive to the needs of others;
• Encourage ‘Respect for All’ and tolerance for the views of other others;
• Encourage the children to value and to be proud of our school environment and to take care of it;
• Share the values and achievements of the school with the children, parents, staff, governors and the wider community.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
To supervise children throughout the midday break (i.e. the interval between the close of the morning school and the re-commencement of school in the afternoon), at all times carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the post in compliance with the Lunchtime Policy Handbook.
• To arrive at 11.45am to commence work with the children at 12 noon and to leave by 1.15pm.
• Supervision of queues waiting to enter for lunch
• Supervision of the eating areas
• To complete First Aid training and administer first aid.
• Complete relevant safeguarding training and report any safeguarding concerns using the school’s systems and procedures.
• Supervision of all areas both inside and outside where pupils congregate during lunchtime.
• Using positive language to encourage acceptable behaviour.
• Checking to see that all pupils return into school in an orderly manner.
• To attend meetings as requested.
• To attend training sessions on your contracted days of work or as reasonably requested by the Headteacher.
• To carry out any other instructions given by the Headteacher falling within the structure of the post.
• To work in liaison with other lunchtime supervisors to lead activities and put out play based resources for pupils.
