More detail about the role The post holder should have post registration experience including within head and neck surgery and/or oncology. Excellent communication skills with patients, their relatives, and a range of health professionals and other teams both within and outside the organisation. The post holder will also be part of the RDUH (Eastern) Nutrition and Dietetics team and the wider Therapies Department (Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and Speech and Language Therapists). We have 34 Dietitians and 4 Dietetic Assistant Practitioners who work at the RDUH and within the Exeter locality and East Devon. We have good clinical supervision, peer support and CPD opportunities available. RDUH is the first Trust to implement an electronic patient system (EPIC) across both acute and community services. The post holder is responsible for ensuring that systems are in place to prioritise and manage the caseload and keep updated to ensure the service has a strong evidence base and is delivered in line with national guidance. The post-holder will be responsible for teaching and leadership within the team working alongside the Oncology Clinical Lead to support the training and development of junior staff, students and other healthcare professionals. Caseloads will be flexible and at times may involve the provision of service to other acute areas of the Trust and may also require working across 7 days. If you join before the implementation date, the pay award will be backdated to your start date.
