Summary
Crossways care Home in Lostock Gralam, Northwich is home to well trained and helpful staff with rooms for up to 40 residents. We pride ourselves in providing 24-hour care and specialised services for older people, the beauty of our grounds, the quality of our catering and our engaging activities we deliver.
As a member of our maintenance team you will be responsible for carrying out day to day maintenance on the building, its services and grounds in order to ensure that the Care Home is maintained in a safe, efficient and functional order.

Preferred Skills
Some awareness of the issues faced by people who need care and support
A skill in carpentry, plumbing, decorating, repairing fixtures and fittings or electrical repairs
Knowledge of Health & Safety inspections
Key Responsibilities
To be responsible for all general repairs in the home.
Test the fire alarm system and log results weekly. Check call points, fire exits, door retaining devices and fire emergency lights as specified in Company procedures.
Test and record water temperatures as specified in Company procedures.
Maintain a ‘Maintenance Book’ in which defects are recorded by staff members and use this to perform repairs/ replacements daily
Report and act on any known defects to appliances, damaged furniture/equipment and any other potential hazards to the Home Manager who will advise accordingly.
Test all portable appliances as specified in Company procedures.
Liaise with the Home Manager or delegated staff member regarding maintenance work to be carried out
Understand and ensure the implementation of the homes Health & Safety policy and Emergency and Fire procedures.
