Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children, especially those at the beginning of their school career? Do you have a nurturing nature and a desire to support pupils in reaching their full potential?
Farrington Gurney C of E Primary School is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated EYFS and Key Stage 1 team. This is a rewarding and varied role where you will support children to learn through continuous provision and lessons, as well as supporting and leading play at lunchtimes.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
● Recent experience supporting children, either in schools or in other relevant care professions.
● A good standard of English and Maths (GCSE Grade C/5 or above)
● An understanding and interest in child development and learning.
● A warm, patient and proactive approach.
● Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable:
● Experience with supporting children in learning through play, phonics and early maths.
● Experience in delivering interventions to individuals or small groups
● A relevant Level 3 qualification in childcare, education or equivalent (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HLTA status, Teaching/Social Work/Nursing qualification).
Key Responsibilities:
● Build strong, supportive relationships with children, helping them feel safe, included, and ready to learn.
● Support learning through continuous provision.
● Offer pastoral care and a listening ear, supporting the emotional and social development of all pupils.
● Monitor and record pupil progress, helping track their achievements.
● Support behaviour management in line with school policies, promoting positive attitudes and teamwork.
● Lead small group interventions as needed.
● Support school events, activities and the wider life of the school.
● Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and equality policies at all times.
● Support and lead play activities and games at lunchtimes.
