Summary

St Matthew’s is a one form entry Primary School which is committed to providing a high standard of education within a Christian environment where every pupil is valued as an individual. The Governors would like to appoint a TLA who has experience of working with children with ASD. The successful candidate will work as part of an TLA team under the guidance of the class teacher in order to support children who have EHC plans.
We are looking for an energetic, patient and calm individual who will be pro-active in supporting and engaging pupils to achieve their full potential, academically and socially under the direction and guidance of the class teacher.

Suitable candidates for the post will be able to demonstrate the following:Experience of working in a primary school setting
Excellent written and oral skills
Strong literacy and Numeracy skills and an ability to explain methods in a clear and simple way.
Worked with children with ASD in an educational setting , as well as experience and understanding of other SEN
Knowledge of working to SMART targets
Knowledge and understanding of SEN Code of Practise
Working with multi -professional agencies ( eg SALT/OT/Physio/EP) and incorporating their recommendations into daily practiseThe ability to work effectively as part of a team , demonstrating flexibility when required, under the guidance of the class teacher
A reflective caring and committed attitude
Be trustworthy and able to maintain confidences
Be practical and be able to use their own initiative
Be committed to promoting equal opportunities within school
