SEN Teaching Assistant
Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can support young people with additional needs to thrive in a nurturing and therapy-led setting?
We're seeking a reliable and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-resourced SEN school near Godalming, Surrey.
Contract: Full-time | Temp-to-Perm
Start Date: September
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:00 (term-time only)
Pay: £13.80 - £15.80 per hour (including holiday pay)
Role
- You'll support pupils aged 11-19 with a range of complex needs, including mental health challenges and social communication difficulties.
- You'll work closely with teachers and therapists to promote emotional resilience, positive behaviour, and independent learning, both in the classroom and through life-skills activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide consistent, 1:1 or small group support for students with SEND
- Support emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
- Assist with academic and practical life-skills tasks
- Help maintain a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to meet individual needs
Requirements
- A patient, proactive and supportive attitude
- Ability to commit to full-time hours and work collaboratively with others
- Experience supporting young people with additional needs (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport
