Teaching Assistant Needed (Part-time)

- Job Type: Part-time, Long-term (Full days on Mondays and Tuesdays, and Wednesday mornings)
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team, working on a 1:1 basis with a Year 2 child from September 2025. This ongoing role involves assisting a child who has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and requires tailored support to access a bespoke curriculum.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide 1:1 support to a Year 2 child, ensuring they can engage with and access their bespoke curriculum.
- Work closely with the classroom teacher to implement educational activities and learning strategies as outlined in the child's EHCP.
- Monitor and support the child's emotional and social development, adapting approaches as needed to suit their individual needs.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the setup of activities, ensuring they are suited to the child's educational requirements.
- Encourage and support the child's participation in classroom activities and peer interactions.
- Maintain regular communication with teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in the child's education.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly those with special educational needs.
- Understanding of EHCPs and experience implementing bespoke curriculums.
- Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to supporting children with additional needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A relevant teaching assistant qualification or equivalent is preferred.
