Summary
We are working with a large and modern special school committed to providing outstanding education and care to children and young people aged 11-19 with a range of complex needs including PMLD, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You will play a key role in shaping a rich, stimulating, and personalised curriculum that enables every learner to thrive.
What We're Looking For:
- A qualified teacher (QTS or overseas equivalent) with experience in SEN settings, particularly with learners with PMLD.
- Someone confident in leading a small team of teaching assistants, with a commitment to collaborative, person-centred learning.
- A skilled communicator who can work effectively with parents, carers, therapists, and other professionals.
- An organised and reflective practitioner, capable of leading on planning, assessment, reporting and behaviour support.
- A teacher who brings creativity, warmth, FUN and resilience to their classroom practice.
- Must have primary experience as these cihildren have a primary mindset
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, multi-sensory teaching that supports highly individualised PLIMs (Personal Learning Intention Maps).
- Lead and manage a class team to create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
- Design and assess learning that reflects both the National Curriculum and specialist SEN strategies.
- Develop and implement behaviour support plans and contribute to school-wide assemblies and enrichment.
- Contribute to the development of the school's sensory curriculum and wider curriculum leadership (M6-UP3).
