About This role
The safety of our customers, and therefore building safety, is our number one priority. This role will work across our diverse geography & portfolio to ensure we take a coherent and co-ordinated approach to building safety at a time when expectations are rightly increasing.
Manage and provide support to a small team of Project Surveyors. To deliver annual programme of surveys, interim measure and remedial works. Take charge of more challenging projects and delivery to achieve successful outcomes for the customer and MTVH.
Provide support to Head of Delivery to ensure communication, reporting and commercial procedures are achieved.
Provide technical expertise to the department and ensure regimes are in place to ensure projects and projects files are managed in a consistent and compliance approach.
The role will be based in London but maybe required to travel to any area of operation to provide coverage to Midlands and East Anglia.
Contribute to the implementation and delivery of compliance within the changing legislative and regulatory framework.
What you'll need to succeed
- Provide technical expertise spanning typical building defects and all Parts forming the Building Regulations.
- Ensure all instructions of works and services are compliant with standing orders, sections 20, legal, procurement and commercial requirements.You will be meticulous in terms of management of payments process to ensure that robust and accurate cost management reporting is achieved.
- Co-ordinate and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders including legal, fire engineering, building consultancy and contractors to deliver surveys and works programmes that improve the safety of the homes we own and manage.
- Ensure that the project tracker(s) under your control are maintained up to date on a weekly basis and are available to key stakeholders, including summary commentary as required.
- Provide technical expertise spanning typical building defects and all Parts forming the Building Regulations
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to communicate often complex issues in a clear and easy to understand way to ensure residents are assured.
- Experienced at managing complex and sensitive works programmes that enhance building safety.
- Experienced at writing technical and progress reports.
- Exceptional contract management expertise with an ability to manage numerous projects and programmes of work simultaneously.
- Provide regular progress reports on key activities under your control.
- Ensure effective communication & engagement with residents on safety programmes under your control
- Assist with the development of Building Safety Department Guides to provide clear guidance on keys service areas associated with the delivery of successful programmes.
- Excellent understanding of Building Regulations, Fire Safety Legislative, Regulatory requirements and best practice.
