Moray Council & Integration Joint Board (IJB) – Leadership Opportunity

Are you a visionary leader passionate about transforming children's services and championing a person-centred approach? The role of Head of Service: Children’s Services and Chief Social Work Officer role spans the Moray Council and the Moray IJB and the council is seeking an exceptional individual to lead and inspire as Head of Children’s Services and Chief Social Work Officer.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-quality, person-centred social work and children’s services across Moray. Serving both Moray Council and the IJB, you will drive strategic vision, foster innovation, and work collaboratively with partners, families, and communities to improve outcomes for children, young people, and families.

As Head of Children’s Services and Chief Social Work Officer, you will provide strategic leadership and direction to develop, deliver, and continually enhance children’s services that are person-centred, inclusive, and responsive to the diverse needs of Moray’s communities. In fulfilling the statutory functions of Chief Social Work Officer for Moray Council, you will offer expert professional guidance and advice to elected members, the Integration Joint Board, and senior management, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met with integrity and care. Collaboration will be at the heart of your approach, as you work closely with partners in health, education, and the wider community to deliver integrated services that prioritise the wellbeing, rights, and voices of children and young people. Furthermore, you will take a proactive lead in safeguarding, quality assurance, and ongoing service improvement, ensuring that children, young people, and families in Moray have timely access to the support they need.
