We have an exciting permanent opportunity to join our Community Learning and Development team in the role of Duke of Edinburgh Coordinator. As part of this role you will be responsible for the delivery of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards scheme in East Renfrewshire encouraging participation and ensuring accessibility of the Award for all young people.
We need someone who has relevant outdoor qualification(s) related to leading and managing expeditions (e.g. Mountain Leader), knowledge of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Programme and experience of working with young people.
Ideally the successful post holder will also have experience of working with young people within a youth work or outdoor learning context.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence therefore to apply if you are barred from working with children. In addition to this, if you have lived or worked in any country outside the UK in the past 10 years, there may be a requirement for an overseas police check.
