Summary

Do you enjoy being outside?

We are pleased to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our Grounds Maintenance team. Based in a busy operational environment, the successful applicants will learn about and assist with most horticultural and arboricultural activities which will include grass cutting, shrub pruning, hedge cutting and a variety of grounds maintenance duties.

Are you looking for an opportunity to be challenged and boost your skills and knowledge whilst being part of a great team and getting paid?

Whether you are leaving college, employed, or unemployed, an Apprenticeship will set you on the road to career success. Apprenticeships offer many advantages over other, more traditional, methods of learning. As well as working towards a nationally recognised qualification, you will also be developing skills directly relevant to your chosen career.

This is an excellent opportunity to combine on the job training, guidance, and support with taught modules at college to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to gain the Apprenticeship Level Two in Horticultural Studies. This is a two year apprenticeship with external training through Sparsholt College for the full two years, Winchester assistance will be given in respect of travel to offsite sessions.

The successful candidates will have a willingness to learn about Grounds Maintenance in an Environment Services setting through a work-based training programme and therefore you will need 3 GCSE's at grade 4 or above (desirable) or grade 3 and above (essential) to include Maths & English. Preference will be given to someone who lives or works in the New Forest District.

Due to funding criteria, we are unable to accept applications from candidates who have already achieved and equivalent level of qualiciation in Horticulture or who already have several years experience in this role.
