Full Job Description
Duties include managing staff, handling inventory and budgets, maintaining food quality, ensuring safety, and implementing marketing strategies. They are also responsible for creating a positive work environment and ensuring compliance with regulations.
1. Overseeing Daily Operations:
Managing the restaurant's daily tasks, ensuring smooth front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
2.Staff Management:
Hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising all restaurant staff, including front-of-house and back-of-house personnel.
3.Inventory and Cost Management:
Managing food and beverage inventory, controlling costs, and minimizing waste.
4.Ensuring Food Quality and Safety:
Maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene, adhering to health and safety regulations.
5.Financial Management:
Managing the restaurant's budget, tracking expenses, and maximizing revenue.
6.Customer Service:
Providing excellent customer service, handling complaints, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
7.Marketing and Promotions:
Implementing marketing strategies to attract customers and promote the restaurant.
8.Strategic Planning:
Developing and implementing strategies to improve sales, profitability, and overall restaurant performance.
9.Menu Planning and Pricing:
Collaborating with the chef to plan menus, pricing items, and managing menu changes.
10.Staff Development:
Training and motivating staff to improve their performance and provide excellent service.
11.Compliance:
Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, including health and safety standards, licensing laws, and employment regulations.
12.Performance Management:
Evaluating staff performance, providing feedback, and addressing any performance issues.
Requirements:
A Senior Restaurant Manager typically needs strong leadership, business, and operational skills, along with proven experience in the hospitality industry. They should be proficient in managing staff, handling finances, and ensuring excellent customer service while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
1.Team Leadership: Ability to motivate, mentor, and manage a team of staff, including supervisors and other managers.
2.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information, expectations, and feedback.
3.Conflict Resolution: Capability to handle and resolve conflicts among staff or with customers.
4.Delegation: Effectively assigning tasks and responsibilities to team members.
5.Experience: Proven experience in restaurant management or a similar role.
6.Education: A degree in hospitality management or related field is often preferred.
7.Commercial Awareness: Understanding of the competitive landscape and market trends in the restaurant industry.
8.Networking: Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
