Location: Nationwide, based at a local office
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum
What will you be responsible for?
As Bid Writer, you'll be working within the Work Winning team, supporting them in completing responses to selection questionnaires and tenders on behalf of Kier. This role is key in shaping the Kier Transportation business by retaining and securing new term contracts, projects, and frameworks, supporting planned and sustained growth. The bid writer will operate across all sectors within Kier Transportation (roads, rail, aviation and ports).
Your day to day will include:
-Working closely and flexibly with all members of the work winning team, developing tailored proposals, providing compelling narrative for selection questionnaires, tender submissions and other proposals e.g. industry awards submissions, drafting and finalising responses to selection questionnaires and tender submissions, evolving drafts in response to reviews and feedback
-Re-working existing pre-written content and boilerplate in line with specific questions, tailoring to individual client requirements, converting knowledge and technical information from operational teams into non technical language, actively engaging with the work winning process ensuring a full understanding of Kier Groups offer for specific projects and contracts
-Building relationships quickly with subject matter experts, functional leads and operational teams who are contributing to the submission, supporting the collation of evidence and collateral for the knowledge hub / bid library, providing evidence of successful delivery
-Combining market and competitor information that will be useful to Kier Transportation in future bids
-Sharing best practice and lessons learnt across the work winning team and Kier Transportation, proposing improvements to quality submissions
What are we looking for?
This role of Bid Writer is great for you if:
-You are educated to degree level or hold equal relevant work experience, proposal / bid writing experience is essential, preferably within the rail, roads or infrastructure sector
-Can demonstrate advanced Microsoft Word skills and highly proficient in using Microsoft Office
-Hold strong oral and written English, with the ability to present ideas in an easily understandable manner
