Advertisement Details

Eric Gray @ Seafield (EGS) provides a range of high quality Supported Vocational Activity services for adults with learning disability, autistic adults and adults with complex needs. EGS is a Care Inspectorate registered service, which sits within the Adult Services (Learning Disability and Autism) department of Community Health and Social Care Directorate.

EGS uses a range of best practice approaches and guidance to provide support that recognises the rights of the individual to participate as meaningfully and as independently as possible in everyday life. Assessed needs and personal outcomes are met through a range of vocational, learning, recreational and work based opportunities and experiences to promote inclusion, choice and independence and encourage each individual to fulfil their personal goals and aspirations. EGS provides support from a purpose built premises in Lerwick and those within the wider community.

The person-centred approach and diverse range of needs supported present complex organisational challenges.

The Assistant Team Leader supports the Team Leader EGS to provide operational management and leadership.

Additional Information

  • The grade of this post is K
  • Salary shown in the advert is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £2,859 per annum (pro rata)
  • Permanent Full Time post for 37.0 Hours per Week , 52.18 weeks per year
  • Preferred candidates will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to a formal offer of employment being made
  • The successful candidate will have to complete registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) when they begin in post
  • A relocation package does not apply to this post
  • We will pay interview expenses from within Shetland
