Work within the administrative and reception team to support the smooth running of the patient journey by ensuring that administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.
The post holder will support the registration of referrals into the department and the management of patient appointments including patient DNA’s and clinic cancellations.
The role includes providing administrative support to all clinical staff within the clinical area including; Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dietitians & Speech and Language Therapists.
The role will include providing cross-cover for other Patient Pathway Administration staff to ensure a consistent and effective administration service is maintained at all times.
To be able to work autonomously, indirectly under the supervision of the office manager.
Within this role you will need to:
· Demonstrate high levels of customer care and be an ambassador for customer care within the trust.
· Communicate directly through telephone or face to face contact with patients and carers demonstrating empathy, understanding, diplomacy, honesty, and integrity.
· Participate in the induction of new administration staff within core team and across the Trust as appropriate, sharing knowledge and expertise of the administrative processes and functions within role.
· Receive and process incoming correspondence, paper and electronic, ensuring it reaches the appropriate place within the required deadlines.
· Receive and process inpatient and outpatient referrals.
· Deal with patient requests / concerns promptly to prevent the hand off of the request to other areas, escalating concerns or complaints to the appropriate Divisional representative.
· Action any change in patient’s personal details, ensuring electronic data is kept up to date.
