Summary
Weston College Group are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our team as an Assistant Principal - Curriculum (Construction and Engineering). The successful candidate will oversee Construction and Engineering for Weston College and will work under the direction and line management of the Deputy Principal - Curriculum and Quality.
As an Assistant Principal, you will need to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be adept at curriculum innovation and learner engagement. It will also demand the capacity for exceptional team working as well as the ability to form networks and strategic partnerships both inside and outside of the Weston College Group.
The Assistant Principal will be responsible for ensuring the development and focus of curriculum across a number of delivery arms of the college. In particular, the post holder will work with Heads of Curriculum areas and others to ensure that teaching and learning is both consistent and of the highest quality across all curriculum products. The role will be responsible for the strategic support and implementation of the College curriculum plan.
Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare.
Day to day duties of the role
- Examining curriculum design and breadth and supporting areas to develop the curriculum products necessary for future delivery.
- Leading and ensuring that all methodologies relating to the learner experience and journey are carried out in a consistent manner across curriculum areas.
- Acting as a conduit between curriculum areas, curriculum leaders and quality team so as to ensure both consistency and hitting of targets.
- Lead on key activities or developments at campuses as directed by the Principal and Chief Executive or one of their team.
Required skills and qualifications
- Degree-level qualification (or equivalent).
- Relevant experience working in an educational setting.
- Extensive experience of developing successful quality strategies and approaches within one or more College/training provider settings.
- Experience of business development and developing commercial opportunities within areas related to the job role.
