Summary
Main clinical responsibilities of the post holder include: Lead tier 2 cover for the intensive care, high dependency, special care, transitional care, postnatal wards. Conducting wards rounds with consultant supervision Holding the emergency tier 2 bleep covering labour suite and theatres for normal deliveries, emergency and elective caesarean sections (including unexpected deliveries in the Emergency Department. Conducting internal transfers of babies i.e. for MRIAttending neonatal clinics with consultants Admission and management of neonates- including supervising tier 1 colleagues Providing advice to junior colleagues and supervising them with regards to management of common postnatal ward problems i.e. jaundice, hypoglycaemia etc. Antenatal counselling for women that present to delivery suite in threatened preterm labour
