Summary
As an Environmental Health Officer in Bexley, you’ll help protect the health and wellbeing of residents by investigating complaints, carrying out inspections, and ensuring that local businesses and properties follow environmental regulations. You’ll work with the public, landlords, and businesses to solve issues and keep the borough safe and clean.
Key Responsibilities:
Investigate complaints from the public, including noise, pollution, poor housing conditions, and hygiene issues.
Inspect properties, businesses, and public places to ensure environmental and health standards are met.
Provide advice and guidance to residents, landlords, and business owners.
Prepare reports and take enforcement action where necessary, including writing legal notices and attending court.
Respond quickly to urgent issues or health hazards.
Work both independently and as part of a team.
Travel around the borough as needed to carry out site visits and investigations.
