Summary
You’ll support children in need, those on child protection plans, and children in care. Working within a local authority team, you’ll build trusting relationships, assess needs, and put in place support tailored to each child and family.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of children needing support, protection, or living in care.
Meet with children and families to assess their needs and risks.
Create and monitor plans that promote safety, wellbeing, and progress.
Work closely with doctors, teachers, police, and other professionals.
Support children in making their voices heard when planning for them.
Keep accurate records, write clear reports, and occasionally attend court.
Provide guidance to junior staff or student social workers.
Chair or attend multi-agency meetings as needed.
