The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly competent CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator to join a busy and varied production environment.
The role involves working on CNC Lathes (twin-spindle, driven tool lathes), all with a Fanuc based control system, managing small batch runs and one-off prototypes using a range of complex materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes with Fanuc controls
- Working on twin-spindle, driven tool lathes
- Machining a wide variety of components from a range of different, and sometimes difficult materials, to tight tolerances and finishing parts to the required specifications.
- Producing high-quality parts to tight tolerances
- Interpreting complex technical drawings with a strong eye for detail
- Running unmanned/lights-out machining processes where applicable
- Delivering quick changeovers and efficient setups
- Monitoring performance and outputs, and recording results accurately
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience with Programming Setting and Operating twin-spindle, driven tool CNC Lathes
- Comprehensive knowledge of the milling strategies required on these machines, as well as having excellent turning capabilities.
- A good understanding of HyperMILL Programming software or a similar CAD/CAM system will be needed
- Machining to tight tolerances and be responsible for the quality of own work.
- Strong understanding of small-batch machining and quick turnarounds
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Read and understand complex drawings
- Have a good eye for detail and good problem-solving ideas.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Wednesday, 7:30am to 5:15pm
Thursday, 7:30am to 4:45pm
Overtime: First 6 hours paid at time + 1/3, any additional hours paid at time + 1/2
Start time can be flexible +/- half an hour, any other changes to be agreed with your line manager.
You should inform your line manager of your chosen regular working pattern.
