We’re looking for a recent or upcoming graduate who has knowledge and interest in PR, Media and Communications to join the busy Media and Public Relations Team at the University of Sheffield.
An enthusiastic and confident communicator, you will help the team use engaging and impactful stories to raise the profile and strengthen the reputation of the University of Sheffield.
The varied Media and PR Assistant role will be best suited to someone with excellent written skills who is excited to help source and translate complex research, corporate and student information into compelling and creative news stories and digital content that sets us apart from our peers and helps us meet our strategic goals.
As part of this role, you will gain experience in the management of media enquiries from regional, national and international journalists, and also develop an understanding of the sector and media activity through the delivery of a media monitoring service and associated reports to nominated University staff.
You’ll be able to use your own initiative and work independently juggling multiple projects in a fast paced environment. With excellent interpersonal skills, you will be confident in building and developing mutually beneficial relationships with journalists and academics and with communication and marketing colleagues across the University and beyond.
You will join the Department of Marketing, Admissions, Recruitment and Communications (MARC), part of the University’s Professional Services. Our teams are collectively responsible for external and internal engagement, reputation and branding, marketing, market insight and research, corporate communications, admissions, events (including graduation), student recruitment and access strategies for the University.
