Homeless Services Manager, Western Isles (3843)
37 hours per week, Permanent Position
£45,243 - £48,966 per annum, inclusive of £2,859 Distant Islands Allowance

The postholder will be required to manage the Comhairle’s Homeless Services to ensure a good quality housing service to homeless and potentially homeless people, and to enable the Comhairle to meet its statutory obligations in respect of homelessness for the Outer Hebrides.

As Homeless Services Manager you must have knowledge of policy and legislation as it relates to the scope of the Comhairle’s Homeless Services, as well as a sound understanding of the health and social issues prevalent amongst homeless households.

You should have strong interpersonal, listening, negotiation, verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to work with minimal supervision and to plan and prioritise your workload.

You must have experience of working with vulnerable people, hold a degree level qualification or at least five years’ relevant experience in a similar service, and have a full current driving licence.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme as a legal requirement of a regulated role with Adults (Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme - mygov.scot).

Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of the grade.
