Your Role
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support Project Managers and other members of Projects Group to develop and deliver projects to time, to budget and a high standard, whilst effectively working in partnership with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation.
You’ll work alongside other project professionals to review, analyse and interpret data from different sources to track and report on project progress including delivery timelines, risks and performance.
In this role, you may also be given responsibility for managing small projects, or designated tasks as part of larger projects, such as producing documentation to obtain necessary internal and external approvals, preparing change request proposals, preparing project update presentations and/ or establishing effective arrangements with Stakeholders to communicate the progress of projects.
This is hybrid role where you will be expected to work in the office 2 days per week.

Welcome to Projects Group, part of Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) - we are responsible for ensuring the organisation has firm foundations to successfully develop and deliver a large, complex and technically diverse portfolio of capital and revenue projects and programmes across Greater Manchester - on time, within budget and with the customer at the heart of what we do.
Our extensive portfolio of projects and programmes covers a significant number of areas within the different modes of transport infrastructure throughout Greater Manchester including Bus infrastructure, Metrolink, Rail, Electrification, Interchanges, Zero Emissions, Clean Air, Active Travel and Business Change just to name a few!

You will have great communication skills and be able to positively engage, interact and build relationships with key stakeholders at varying levels building rapport, trust and confidence at all times.
You’ll also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret different types of data including qualitative and quantitative data from different sources.
You will either be educated to degree level, or have demonstrable relevant experience in a similar role, with the relevant transferable skills such as strong organisation and report writing skills.
Desirable, but not essential, you will possess a formal Project Management related qualification and/or have some experience in working with business change and/or infrastructure projects

The salary for this role ranges from £29,881 to £38,723 per annum, depending on your skills and experience.
This is a career-graded role, which means you'll start your career at the level 1 grade with annual increment progression and with opportunities for salary progression over time.
