Hybrid, Birmingham
£32,206 per annum pro rata
The vacancy
Hours: Full time - 35 hours per week/ 70 hours over two weeks (nine-day fortnight)
Shift pattern: Flexible working pattern available including 9 day fortnight. 1 day per week to be worked in Tricorn House. Usually 2 days per week on Income administration call queue with 9-5 pattern on those days.
The role
We are currently looking to recruit an Income Administrator to join our Income Administration team here at Housing 21.
Within the role you will cover all aspects of payments including direct debits, benefits and other payments into the business in relation to rents and service charges.
The role holder will ensure accurate, complete, timely processing and maintenance of all agreed activities. Encompassing – management and administration of tenants direct debits, housing benefits entitlements & contributions, rent transfers, queries, refunds, tenancy set up/amendments, former tenants arrears and overpayments, universal credit portal, legal administration support, raising of sublet invoices.
You will provide support to operations and other stakeholders, to ensure that each contact receives a seamless service that is supported by an accountable and customer focussed approach. Where appropriate to direct contact to Operational colleagues reflecting the devolved model of “My court- My business”
This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will be required to attend our head office in Birmingham 1 day a week.

The essential requirements for the role include:
• Experience working in a fast paced, high-volume environment and delivery of excellent customer service
• Has experience of working in the housing sector
• Has working knowledge of the benefits system- HB and UC
• Track record of delivering services to meet customers’ needs
• Confidentiality and data protection legislation
• Experience working with complex systems solutions with numerous interfaces from feeder systems
• GCSEs (including Maths and English) at Grade C or above.
