Summary

Financial Accountant

Glasgow, London, or Cardiff | 5-month contract | Public Sector | Negotiable Day Rate

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations and support fixed asset management

  • Lead VAT return prep and ensure compliance with HMRC COS rules

  • Support Whole of Government Accounts submissions

  • Coach team members and provide clear task direction

Must-Have Requirements

  • CCAB qualified (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ICAEW)

  • Up to 5 years post-qualification experience

  • Strong VAT and financial reporting knowledge

  • Confident using Excel and working to tight deadlines

  • Comfortable working in a team and coaching others

Nice to Have

  • Experience in public sector or government finance

  • Knowledge of Contracted Out Services VAT rules

  • Awareness of Whole of Government Accounts process
