More detail about the role Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital are looking for an enthusiastic and forward thinking individual to join our team. PEOC Theatres are world renowned with five theatres performing a range of procedures Monday to Saturday including Hip and Knee, Shoulder and Elbow, Foot and Ankle, Spines and Hands for adult and paediatric patients. We are expanding our Clinical Nurse Manager team, and looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join us to provide leadership within this established department, who will predominantly be responsible for the Spinal team. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to develop relationships with multi-disciplinary teams and be an advocate for the theatre teams. You will be flexible and be experienced in managing conflicting priorities. and will have the be enthusiastic to develop services and deliver improvements to provide excellent patient care in a timely and efficient way. The successful applicant will work within the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre and will be expected to act as a role model, ensuring high standards of patient safety and experience are provided for patients within allocated resources. The successful applicant will be joining an experienced team of committed individuals and will be expected to further develop team members to reach their full potential. As a leader they will act as an expert resource and role model for the Operating Theatre multi professional team to support them in the delivery of effective care. The Clinical Nurse/ODP Manager will be responsible for ensuring a good environment in which all patients and carers receive a high standard of care that is compassionate and takes account of their individual needs and wishes. This will require the Clinical Nurse/ODP Manager to adopt a highly visible and accessible approach for patients and staff. It will mean that they lead by example and empowers staff in their personal and professional development to undertake a greater range of clinical skills pertinent to perioperative practice to modernise and improve patient care, including updates of essential training. Working Pattern: 4 days a week, 37.5 hours. Early shifts 8am - 6pm and late shifts 10:30pm - 8am or 11:30pm - 9pm plus on call provision. We also work Saturdays, and provide 24/7 on call provision for General Theatres, including weekends and bank holidays. If you join before the implementation date, the pay award will be backdated to your start date. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2024/5 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2024/25 | NHS Employers) This is a fixed term contract for 12 months. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.
