Summary

Deputy Nurse Manager – £52,000 | 1-Year Maternity Cover | August Start | Nursing Home for Older Adults


Salary: £52,000 per annum
Hours: 42 hours per week (mixture of supernumerary and clinical shifts)
Contract Type: 1-Year Fixed Term (Maternity Leave Cover)
Start Date: August 2025


Our client is looking for an experienced Deputy Nurse Manager to join their team at a nursing home for older adults. Specialising in nursing, residential, and dementia care, this service is rated Good by the CQC and is known for its supportive culture and commitment to high-quality, person-centred care.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key leadership role within a well-run service during a one-year maternity cover contract. The role offers a balanced mix of clinical and supernumerary hours, ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on nursing and strategic oversight.

What We’re Looking For

  • Current NMC registration (RGN or RMN)
  • A minimum of 1 year’s experience in a Deputy Nurse Manager role (essential)
  • Strong leadership skills and a collaborative approach to care delivery
  • A passion for improving the lives of older adults, including those with dementia
  • Excellent organisational, clinical, and communication skills
  • Confidence in supporting audits, supervisions, and service improvement plans

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the service
  • Lead by example in delivering safe, compassionate care to residents
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to nursing and care teams
  • Oversee care planning, medication management, and quality assurance processes
  • Ensure compliance with CQC standards and internal policies
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Contribute to staff development, training, and team morale
