Key Responsibilities of the Lead Building Controls Engineer:
• Lead the installation and commissioning of advanced building control systems and energy software.
• Oversee home automation integration with building management systems (BMS).
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to deliver seamless installations.
• Conduct site assessments and produce detailed technical documentation.
• Manage second fix wiring: data, network, and control cabling.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in BMS, IP networks, and automation systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians, helping grow internal capability.
• Stay ahead of industry developments and emerging technologies.
What You’ll Bring:
• Solid hands-on experience with BMS systems – commissioning and install.
• Expertise in KNX and familiarity with BACnet or similar protocols.
• Working knowledge of metering technologies (e.g., M-Bus, Modbus, LoRa) – desirable.
• Strong grasp of IP networking and configuration – highly advantageous.
• Exposure to energy management software and smart home automation.
• A problem-solving mindset and a team-oriented attitude.
