Summary
You will join a team of 5 Consultants, and 2 specialist orthopaedic nurses and will be expected to provide an elective spinal service in conjunction with colleagues.You will be expected to participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care, to take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training, and to contribute to the management of the clinical service and service development. The Department is keen to help the post holder to develop their area(s) of clinical interest and has a flexible approach in this regard. This is a non-on call post but you will be required to support with weekend ward rounds. This means that some staff groups will increasingly be asked to work a more flexible shift pattern so that we can offer services in the evenings or at weekends. Department Information This is the tertiary Childrens Spinal Service for South London and associated counties. It is also the local hospital for many children in South London. The current consultant staff in Childrens Spinal Surgery Unit in the Evelina Hospital is: Tom Ember Head of Service Jonathan Lucas Spinal Consultant Mark Harris Spinal Consultant Adil Ahmad Spinal Consultant Zac Silk Locum Spinal Consultant The successful candidate will be accountable to Mr Ahmad, who will act as the educational supervisor and medical appraiser for the post holder throughout the fellowship post.
