Summary

Job Purpose: To provide efficient and effective administrative support to the surgery, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and contributing to excellent patient care.Key Responsibilities: Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence (emails, letters, faxes). Process prescription requests and manage repeat prescription tasks. Input and update patient information on the clinical system accurately. File and scan documents into patient records (e.g. letters, test results). Support clinical staff with referral processing, appointment follow-ups, and admin tasks. Answer telephone calls and assist patients or redirect as appropriate. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection protocols at all times. Assist with recall systems for health checks, vaccinations, and reviews. Provide cover for reception or other admin staff when needed. Person Specification: Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to multitask and prioritise in a busy environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office and clinical systems (e.g. EMIS Web desirable). Previous admin experience in a healthcare setting (preferred but not essential). Reliable, team-oriented, and respectful of patient confidentiality.
