Upton Park ward specialises in respiratory conditions.

Newham University Hospital is located in the heart of Newham with excellent transport links. Upton Park ward specialises in various complex respiratory conditions. We care for patients with tracheostomies, non-invasive ventilation, continuous positive airway pressure, COPD, Asthma, Covid, and Tb. We offer good level of support and development. In return, we expect you to work around 24/7 rota. You will need to be compassionate, excellent communicator and have high standards of care. Please note you are required to have a professional registration for this post.
• The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of a consistently high standard of care to meet patient needs and Unit objectives.
• The post holder must demonstrate clinical expertise in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care using an holistic approach.
• The post holder must possess fundamental management and facilitation skills in order to co-ordinate and supervise the activity of Unit staff, promote multi-disciplinary working and foster a supportive, learning environment
• In the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse the post holder will assume responsibility for the effective operation of the Unit. As a Registered Nurse the post holder is expected to consistently act in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
