Summary

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday, however, required to be flexible as business dictates and late and early split shifts may be required or occasional weekends.

General Service Manager – HMRC Birmingham

Sodexo is recruiting a skilled and motivated General service Manager to oversee both Technical and Soft FM services across multiple HMRC sites in the Birmingham area. In this pivotal role, you will ensure all services are delivered to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency—supporting the performance of a high-profile public sector contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day facilities operations across HMRC Birmingham buildings
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, statutory and contractual obligations
  • Oversee financial performance, manage budgets, and control costs
  • Lead, coach and develop on-site facilities and engineering teams
  • Act as primary point of contact for internal and external audits
  • Support service innovation and identify operational improvement opportunities
  • Maintain strong client relationships and uphold service-level agreements
  • Ensure readiness for inspections and provide technical support when needed

Person Specification

  • Proven experience in Total Facilities Management (TFM)
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities
  • Financially astute with experience managing service budgets
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Customer-focused mindset and experience building stakeholder relationships
