This is an apprentice administration role supporting the wider respiratory team. The post holder will become fully competent in providing administrative support for the Respiratory Service.
• To provide administration support to the Respiratory administrative team.
• To undertake general office duties, for example, answering the telephone, taking messages, filing, photocopying, handling incoming and outgoing post, etc. and any other duties required.
• To communicate with staff and visitors on a daily basis, providing support where required and working to help resolve any issues.
• Accurately transcribing from BigHand digital dictation and BigHand Speech Recognition digital dictation, outpatient clinic letters and miscellaneous clinical correspondence to a high standard within specified timescales (mainly audio typing).
• Telephone calls inbound/outbound relating to patients specific care, in a confidential, sensitive and empathetic manner.
• Use and maintain admin and patient databases in relation to patient pathways e.g. for tracking and flagging investigations/results and making appointments.
• Use hospital systems to accurately record patient information, add referrals and book appointments.
• You will be expected to demonstrate a flexible approach to the job, providing support to the wider Respiratory speciality as necessary.
• Undertake mandatory training as required.
