Summary
The roles will be based in London or Leeds.
You will be part of a team of 13 librarians performing roles that range from managing web and digital media to the more traditional management of books and periodicals to achieve three breakthrough objectives:
- Research Excellence: Building our research offering
- Digital Transformation : Identical user experience for those who visit the library or access content virtually
- Knowledge Management (KM): Increasing the evidence base by improving tools and processes to capture and manage records
Reporting to the senior librarian, you will support the digital library, optimising digital tools and processes underpinning desktop research; and work on KM initiatives to improve the capture and sharing of proprietary evidence within the AC.
A typical day may involve working with multiple providers installing new products or functionality on the digital platform; facilitating training and user research events; or identify opportunities for developing content and products.
The role requires experience managing digital tools including library management systems and desktop search tools, as well as expertise in developing SharePoint libraries and metadata to handle large volumes of documents.
Successful candidates can expect to be involved in a range of activities including:
- Monitoring performance of the desktop platform - overseeing content, tools and planned changes
- Analysing content usage to identify trends and guide future procurements
- Supporting KM initiatives across the AC to improve quality of evidence, discoverability of content and enrich the user journey
- Developing SharePoint libraries and digital tools to manage large volumes of records effectively
- Facilitating training and awareness programmes to increase user engagement and establish knowledge management standards
- Collaborating with colleagues to develop cross cutting solutions that support users from all professions and divisions
