Summary

About The Role
£41,410 per annum (inclusive of allowances)

Hours of work: 35 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 8.00 – 16.15 hours and Friday 8.00 – 13.00 hours.

Our HGV Vehicle Fitters are required to participate in an out of hours call out scheme currently on a 1 week in 6 basis. Overtime payments will be made for all hours worked outside normal working hours.

We are recruiting for HGV Vehicle Fitters to work at our modern and state of art vehicle workshops at Vesty Road, Bootle, Merseyside.

The Workshop department provides a high-quality fleet, comprising of fire appliances, ancillary, special vehicles and other specialist plant/equipment, maintained to a high standard and degree of reliability to provide the means whereby all members of the fire service can carry out their duties safety and efficiently.

Our HGV Vehicle Fitters are responsible for carrying out repairs, inspections, servicing and modification tasks to our fleet of Scania Fire Appliances and our ancillary fleet.
You must be a fully qualified HGV Vehicle Fitter with City and Guilds or NVQ level 3. Have experience of working in an HGV vehicle transport workshop and be able to complete HGV vehicle inspections to DVSA standard.
