Early Years Support Officer, Education Development Centre (9118)
18.5 hours per week, permanent post
£18,541 - £20,470 per annum, inclusive of £1,429 Distant Islands Allowance per annum

You will be required to support the operation of Early Learning and Childcare settings and provide a support and development role for vulnerable families and children with Additional Support Needs.

You will support the Early Years Service manager take forward the Early Years targets identified within the Education, Skills and Children’s Services Business Plan and the Integrated Children’s Services Plan

You must have a proven experience working with children in an Early Years setting and a qualification that meets the requirement of the SSSC for Practitioners.

You must have a working knowledge and understanding of: child development and how children learn; planning, assessment and development in the early years' sector; Care Inspectorate, Health & Social Care Standards and SSSC requirements; documents relating to Early Learning & Childcare - Curriculum for Excellence, Building the Ambition, Pre-birth to 3 and How Good is our Early Learning & Childcare.

A full, clean, unrestricted, UK driving licence and access to a car is essential.

Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance and appointment will be on the first point of the scale.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme as a legal requirement of a regulated role with Children (Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme - mygov.scot).
